Terms of Service & Disclaimer
By accessing or using pastesite.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, do not use the site.
1. The service
pastesite.com is a free paste-sharing tool. Anyone can store and share text and code — anonymously or with a free account. Pastes may be public, unlisted, password-protected, expiring, or self-deleting. An account is optional and only needed for the personal dashboard and paste management features.
2. You are responsible for what you paste
All content on pastesite.com is submitted by users. The operators of this site do not review, monitor, endorse, or preview any paste before it is published, and we are not the author or publisher of any user-submitted content. You alone are legally responsible for any content you submit, share, or make available through this service, and for any consequences of submitting it. By posting content, you confirm that you have the right to do so and that it does not violate any law or third-party right.
3. No warranty, no liability for linked content
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, with no warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Because pastes are user-submitted, the site may contain links to third-party websites or content we did not create and do not control. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, legality, or safety of any third-party website or resource linked from a paste. Following a link found in a paste is done entirely at your own risk, and any transaction or interaction between you and a third-party site is solely between you and that site.
4. Acceptable use — what you may not paste
You agree not to use the service to store or share content that:
- is illegal under applicable law, including copyright or trademark infringement;
- contains malware, viruses, or code intended to harm or compromise other systems;
- is phishing, fraud, spam, or unsolicited advertising;
- sexually exploits minors, or depicts extreme violence;
- targets people with harassment, threats, or hate speech;
- exposes other people’s personal data, credentials, or private information without their consent;
- infringes the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party.
Violating these rules may result in immediate removal of the paste, suspension of your account, and cooperation with law enforcement where required. We reserve the right to remove or restrict access to any content at our sole discretion, without notice.
5. Reporting abuse
Every paste has a Report button. If a paste violates these terms or the law, use it to send a report — include the paste link and a short reason. We do review reported pastes and will take action where appropriate, including removing the paste, blocking the submitter, and escalating illegal content to the authorities.
We act on reports at our sole discretion and as quickly as we reasonably can. Because the service receives a high volume of content, we cannot guarantee that every reported paste will be reviewed immediately, and we are not liable for any harm that occurs before a report is reviewed or actioned. Submitting a report does not create any obligation on our part, nor does it grant the reporter any right to a specific outcome.
False or bad-faith reports — including reports filed to harass a paste author or to censor lawful content — may result in the reporter being blocked from future submissions.
6. Copyright & DMCA
We respect intellectual property law. If you believe a paste infringes your copyright, submit a report using the Report button and include the paste link plus a statement that you own or are authorized to act on behalf of the copyright holder. Valid copyright complaints will be actioned, and repeat infringers may have their access blocked.
Under 17 U.S.C. § 512, we may, in appropriate circumstances, disable access to infringing material. Please be aware that materially misrepresenting that content is infringing may expose you to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
A formal notice — including a DMCA notice — may be sent to support@pastesite.com with the subject line “Copyright notice”. A notice should identify the work you say is infringed, give the paste link or ID, give your name, address and email, state that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised, state that the information is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them, and carry your signature (an electronic one is fine). Incomplete notices may be returned rather than acted on.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither pastesite.com nor its operators, owners, or contributors shall be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of data, revenue, or profits — arising out of or in any way connected with your use of, or inability to use, the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
We are not liable for the conduct of users of the service, for any content they post, or for any interaction between users and third parties linked from a paste. We are a passive intermediary and do not endorse, control, or take responsibility for user content.
Nothing here excludes or limits a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including your statutory rights as a consumer. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greatest extent the law allows.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless pastesite.com, its operators, and contributors from any claim, demand, loss, or damages — including reasonable legal fees — arising out of content you submit or your violation of these terms.
9. Service availability & data retention
We strive to keep pastesite.com reliable and your pastes accessible around the clock. That said, the service is provided on a best-effort basis and occasional downtime may occur for maintenance or reasons outside our control. Some pastes are designed to disappear automatically — through expiration timers, burn-after-read, or abuse removal — and we encourage you to keep a backup of anything you can’t afford to lose. We do not guarantee that any paste will remain available indefinitely and may modify or discontinue features at any time.
10. Privacy
What we collect and why:
- Account email. If you create an account, we store your email address and a hashed (irreversible) version of your password. Your email is used only to identify your account — we do not send marketing emails and do not sell or share it. Anonymous pasting without an account requires no email at all.
- Analytics. We use self-hosted Umami (stats.pastesite.com) to understand site usage — pages viewed, approximate region, device and browser type, referring sites on static guides, and fixed editor-step counts such as starting, creating and copying a paste link. App tracking strips query strings, fragments and referrers. Events contain no paste content, link, title, password or account ID and never block the editor.
- Abuse prevention. To rate-limit abuse, the server stores a salted hash (irreversible) of your IP address with each paste creation — never the IP itself. Human verification is handled by Cloudflare Turnstile, which receives limited technical data under Cloudflare’s own policies.
- Paste content. Pastes are stored on our database provider’s (Turso) infrastructure. Paste passwords are stored only as irreversible hashes. Do not paste sensitive information such as passwords, API keys, or personal data — anything you paste may be visible to anyone who has the paste link.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by applicable law without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of your use of the service shall be resolved informally where possible, and otherwise in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
12. Changes
These terms may change at any time. Continued use of the service after changes are posted means you accept the updated terms. It is your responsibility to review this page periodically.
13. Legal requests and disclosure
We may preserve and disclose the limited information described in section 10 — an account email, paste metadata, and a salted hash rather than an IP address — where we believe in good faith that the law requires it, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety or property of the site, its users or the public. We are a small operation: we may be unable to tell you about a request, and a request may forbid us from doing so.
14. Age
You must be at least 13 years old to use the site. In the EEA or the UK you must be at least 16, or the age of digital consent where that differs. If you are under the age of majority where you live, use the site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. Accounts that belong to children below these ages are removed when we become aware of them.
15. Severability and whole agreement
If part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force and that part is read as narrowly as possible. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and the site about using it.
